Woodland Walks for Pre-Schoolers
These 30-minute one-to-one pony rides take place in Lavant Equestrian’s beautiful private woodlands, where children as young as two years old can enjoy a calm, confidence building experience alongside our expert team.
Parents and guardians are warmly invited to walk alongside, making it a wonderful, shared adventure.
Woodland Walks are led by experienced handlers and calm, steady ponies, ensuring every moment is safe, positive and full of fun. It’s the perfect way for little ones to start developing balance, coordination and confidence around horses, all while exploring the sights and sounds of the countryside.
It’s a brilliant first step towards a lifetime of horse riding.
When Can Children Start Riding Properly?
Children can begin to learn to ride independently from around four years of age, when they’re ready to take part in group lessons. These structured sessions help young riders build skills, social connections and responsibility — while continuing to enjoy all the fun and wellbeing that horses bring.
For younger children, Woodland Walks are the perfect start: relaxed, imaginative and memorable.
