Lavant Equestrian: A Legacy of Growth and Excellence
Originally, the property was associated with Lavant House School, the all-girls school next door, which closed in 2016. In those early days, we operated as Lavant House Stables out of the school’s old stable block and provided lessons to the students. Over time, the site has evolved into the fully equipped equestrian facility it is today.
Our facilities have developed steadily over the years. The square arena, which has always maintained its distinctive shape, remains ideal for riders of all levels, particularly beginners and children. It has been enhanced with a beautiful beach hedge for weather protection, a heated spectator area, is fully floodlit, and has a state-of-the-art surface designed for horse comfort.
The long arena, built in 2001, was designed to meet British Dressage requirements, providing a complementary space to the square arena. This arena also benefits from full floodlighting, a set of mirrors for rider training, a large protective hedge, and a covered, heated, spectator area for parents and friends.
In 2008, we removed our stallion paddocks, once home to our Andalusian breeding programme to make way for a state-of-the-art indoor arena. Featuring LED lighting and a premium equestrian surface, this facility was a game-changer for Lavant Equestrian, allowing all-weather training and events.
Our newest addition, the stable block, provides a fully covered space for both staff and horses, completing the transformation of the site into a modern, versatile equestrian centre.
