Welcome to Lavant Equestrian, where people and horses truly thrive. Renowned for our excellence and trusted since 1998, our highly qualified and experienced team are here to support riders of all ages at every stage of their horse riding journey.

Whether you’re a complete beginner, you’re returning to horse riding, or you’re an advanced rider, our first-class facilities spread over 80 acres, in the stunning South Downs National Park provide the ideal setting for learning, progression and enjoyment.

Riding Lessons

Horse riding for adults and children is a fun, active sport, no matter what age or ability. With over 50 happy, well-trained and safe horses and ponies in residence, we have a selection to suit the abilities of all adults and children.

  • It’s never too late to start – we have many very active senior riding members
  • Whatever your ambitions for horse riding, long or short term we will help you to achieve personal goals beyond your expectations
  • Horse riding for children is proven to work best with lessons (individual and group) to build confidence gradually, in a safe environment
  • Lessons are with our experienced, qualified instructors who have a natural empathy with children
  • Our ponies are also carefully selected and extensively trained
  • Your child can begin horse riding with us from any age – they just need to be able to sit up by themselves!
  • We also offer a range of lessons for adults
  • Introductory ride taster sessions available

Introductory Rides

A 45-minute introductory ride is a wonderful opportunity for you or your child to meet our friendly team and horses, while discovering our facilities. Our professional instructors are experienced in supporting everyone—from complete beginners and nervous riders to experienced riders.

Our Horses

We go to great lengths to source first-class horses, who are happy and healthy, living outdoors in herds as nature intended. Our horses and ponies are regularly schooled by our staff and taken out hacking, hunting and competing to keep them content and enjoying their role.

Set in the beautiful rural environment of the South Downs National Park, Lavant Equestrian is fully equipped with all the facilities and safety features you need:

  • Two international-sized, floodlit outdoor riding arenas
  • Top quality light and airy indoor stable block for exclusive livery and owner facilities
  • Full range of show-jumping equipment
